On the evening of September 28, GUES held the Mid-autumn Festival Party for the second-term international students at XSA-J105. Yang Baohua, the vice president of GUES, Xia Weilan, director of Office of International Cooperation and Exchange, Chen Yong, party secretary of School of Foreign Languages, Zeng Hui, Dean of School of Foreign Languages, Gu Qingyi, deputy party secretary of School of Foreign Languages, course teachers, foreign teachers and students and volunteers came to this party.
At the party, Yang Baohua extended the warmest festival greetings and best wishes to all international students. He introduced the significance of the Mid-autumn Festival and hoped that all international students should help and care for each other in this new environment, study hard, have a good time at GUES and cherish the precious experience in China. Also, GUES would leave them happy memories.
Xia Weilan sent notebooks with blessings to international students and encouraged them to study hard and make progress every day.
The international students from different countries shared their excellent performances. Laotian students performed their folk dance and received rapturous applause. Li Sha, who is from Equatorial Guinea, sang the song “The Moon Represents My Heart”. After the performances, the international students enjoyed fruits and moon cakes. Wang Hui, a student from Zimbabwe, said, “This is my first time to eat moon cake and it’s very delicious”. The international and Chinese students, teachers and volunteers played games together, such as catching the seat and stepping on the balloon. There was a burst of cheering, which pushed the party to a climax.
Finally, the party ended with cheerful chatting and laughing.
